The sanctuary borders on the other side with the Aravall region and was originally a forest for royal hunters. Today the sanctuary is home to more than 200 species of birds, including several big cats, leopards, wolves, chinkara, nilga, and deer.

Muchal Mahavir Temple- This temple is not located in a fort, but in the Kumbhalgarh Wildlife Sanctuary. It is a Jain temple which is quite beautiful to see. Inside, there are large statues of wild animals, such as elephants.
